Job Summary We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Neonatologist to provide specialized medical care to newborn infants, particularly those who are premature, critically ill, or have congenital abnormalities. The Neonatologist will diagnose, treat, and manage neonatal conditions, collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams, and provide family-centered care in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). Key Responsibilities Provide comprehensive medical care for newborn infants, including premature and critically ill neonates. Diagnose, evaluate, and manage neonatal medical and surgical conditions. Manage patients in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), including those requiring advanced respiratory and cardiovascular support. Perform neonatal resuscitation and stabilize high-risk newborns immediately after birth. Interpret laboratory investigations, diagnostic imaging, and other clinical tests relevant to neonatal care. Perform procedures such as umbilical venous and arterial catheterization, endotracheal intubation, lumbar puncture, chest tube insertion, and exchange transfusion, as clinically indicated. Collaborate with obstetricians, pediatricians, pediatric surgeons, anesthesiologists, nurses, respiratory therapists, and other specialists to provide coordinated care. Counsel and educate parents and families regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, prognosis, and discharge planning. Participate in antenatal consultations for high-risk pregnancies and delivery planning. Ensure accurate and timely medical documentation and maintain comprehensive patient records. Participate in quality improvement initiatives, clinical audits, research, and continuing medical education. Adhere to hospital policies, infection prevention protocols, patient safety standards, and applicable healthcare regulations. Qualifications Accredited fellowship or DM in Neonatology Valid medical license to practice in the applicable jurisdiction. Required Skills Expertise in neonatal intensive care and management of critically ill newborns. Strong clinical judgment and decision-making abilities in emergency and intensive care settings. Proficiency in neonatal procedures and advanced life support. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with multidisciplinary teams and families. Compassionate, family-centered approach to patient care. Ability to work effectively under pressure in a high-acuity clinical environment. Familiarity with electronic medical record (EMR) systems and clinical documentation. Commitment to patient safety, evidence-based practice, and continuous professional development.
